Our Roles

As Christians, our role is to preach the word of God and to bring our brothers and sisters that are ignorant or indifferent on the word of the Lord into brighter pastures. We are never finishes products, as our personas can always be molded to more resemble that of Jesus, though we can never fully reach a full resemblance. The more we learn, the more we understand, the more is expected out of us. Once we are in a position to comprehend God’s teachings, we are expected to spread them.
What’s beautiful about this transformation of our roles in the eyes of Christ is that we are merely preparing ourselves and those that we preach to for something far greater. Even though we are inherently enriching the lives of those we bring to Christ, that’s nothing compared to what God himself will deliver to those that dedicate their lives to him. Our role in bringing new followers to Christ is similar to that of the John the Baptist.
When John was baptizing the people of Jerusalem in the Jordan River he said:
Mark 1:8 - “I baptize you with the water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”
As Christians, we provide water for those who are thirsty for the teachings of Christ, which sets the stage for God to give them the gift of eternal life.
